Cassandra (Robertson) Thornbrugh

It has been said that eternity is just a heartbeat away.  Life is short, so don’t take anything for granted.   The family of Cassandra (Robertson) Thornbrugh want to make sure you take those words to heart.

On Thursday, January 11, 2022, Cassandra passed away at the age of 43 unexpectedly at CRMC in Coffeyville.

Cassandra was born on December 19, 1978, in Chanute, Kansas to Arthur Robertson and Deborah (Brown) Hill. She and her sibling were raised in Chanute most of their childhood until her early teens when they packed up and moved to California.  The family only spent a few years in California, and they moved back to Jenks, Oklahoma where she completed her education, graduating from Jenks High School.  Shortly after graduating she and her family moved back to Coffeyville to be near family. Cassandra attended Coffeyville Community College.  She has worked in health care and several other positions, and her last place of employment was with Dollar Tree where she was an assistant merchandising manager.

Cassandra was an amazing mother to her children, loved people and had a very caring heart.  She cared so deeply that her family said she had a bleeding heart for people.  She was always willing to help and always put the needs of other before her own.  If she loved you, she loved you, if she didn’t like you there were no hard feelings it was just a fact.   Those who knew her best knew that she could be fashionably late, but she would always be there.

Cassandra married Dewey Thornbrugh and they have two sons, Damien and Gabriel.  Though the couple have never divorced, they remain best of friends.  Cassandra and her life partner, Chris DeGood have spent the last 14 years together and have one son, Joshua together.  Cassandra’s two brothers Chad Robertson and Terry Nading loved their sister.  She was preceded in death by both parents.

Memorial service for Cassandra will be held on Friday, January 21, 2022, at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave., Coffeyville at 3:00 pm and Pastor Kevin O’Connor will officiate.  The family has requested memorials be paid to the family to help to defray the unexpected expenses and may be left in care of the chapel.  To share a memory or leave a condolence visit www.fordwulfbrunschapel.com
