Marsha Allen

Marsha Allen, age 76, of Caney, Kansas formerly of Moline, Kansas passed away on Wednesday December 29, 2021, at Grove Nursing Center in Grove, Oklahoma. 

 

Marsha was born on October 26, 1945, in Independence, Kansas to John F and Loretta Mae (Hopper) Clark.  She grew up in Moline, Kansas where she attended local schools and graduated from Moline High School.  Marsha furthered her education at Southwestern College in Winfield, KS where she earned her bachelor's degree. 

 

On December 27, 1969, she married the love of her life, James "Jim" Allen in Moline, Kansas.  The couple made their home in Caney, KS.  They had two children, Michael and Sharawn.  Marsha filled her days taking care of the home and the children.  She was very active in all their events and hobbies and did a wonderful job taking care of her family. 

 

Marsha was of the Methodist faith.  She was a member of Moline United Methodist Church where she attended church for many years.  Her other hobbies were attending baseball card conventions with her son, Michael, baking, reading mystery novels, and working puzzles.

 

Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Sharawn Rose and husband, Eddie of Grove, Oklahoma, son, Michael Allen of Caney, Kansas, a granddaughter, Kayla Conway and husband, Blake, great grandsons, Landon and Cayden Conway, along with several nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends. 

 

Following Marsha's wishes, cremation is to take place under the direction of David W Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville, Kansas. 

 

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 7, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church Chapel in Coffeyville.  Reverend Yves Kinangwa will officiate.  A family inurnment will take place at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Moline, Kansas at a later time. 

 

The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to Alzheimer’s Association; these may be made online at alz.org, left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W Barnes Funeral Home 306 N. Cline Rd. Coffeyville, KS 67337.
