Howard Wayne Hendryx

Howard Wayne Hendryx, age 74, of Coffeyville, KS, passed away on December 12, 2021, at the home in Coffeyville with his family by his side.

 

 

 

He was born Sept 22, 1947, to Bill and Donna Hendryx in Coffeyville, KS. He graduated from Field Kindley High School in 1965 and went on to attend Coffeyville Community College before enlisting in the Navy. He served four years until 1969. He married Marilyn Hanigan in May 1966 and had two sons, Chris and Alec. After his service time, he worked for the Coffeyville Police Department for 7 years. He then worked for Funk Manufacturing, Four State Maintenance Supply and Bartlett Milling Co, retiring from there.

 

 

 

He was a member of First Southern Baptist Church and loved his Sunday School class and church family. He had a long-time involvement with the Boy Scouts being an Assistant Scoutmaster and Scoutmaster of Troop 50, having numerous adventures with all the leaders and Scouts. He enjoyed camping, guns, airplanes, holiday hamburger feeds, and spending time with his family His heart was full when 2 granddaughters entered his life. He enjoyed them so much. He will be greatly missed.

 

 

 

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, two sons Chris of Grovetown, Ga and Alec (Veronica) of Coffeyville, KS, two granddaughters, Natalie and Jocelyn. He is also survived by his sister, Karen Hendryx of Coffeyville and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Donna Hendryx.

 

 

 

Memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 16, 2021, at 10am at First Southern Baptist Church, 2701 W 8th St, Coffeyville, KS.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, from 6 to 8pm at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave. in Coffeyville.

 

The family has requested memorial contributions be made payable to First Southern Baptist Church and may be left in care of the chapel.  Inurnment will take place at a future date in Robbins Cemetery. To leave a message of condolence or share a memory visit www.fordwulfbrunschapel.com
