Ronald Eugene 'Ron' Clark, Sr.

Ronald Eugene ‘Ron’ Clark, Sr., age 81, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at Medicalodges Nursing Home in Coffeyville.

Ron was born on October 16, 1940, in Coffeyville, Kansas to Albert and Violet (Soles) Clark.  He grew up in Strong City, Kansas where he attended school.  As soon as he became eligible, he enlisted in the United States Navy where he proudly served his country.  Upon receiving his honorable discharge, he returned to Kansas where he worked for Union Gas that was later to become Atmos Energy as a Field Technician for over 30 years.

On March 31, 1962, Ron married the love of his life, Janice Kay Cessna.  The couple made their home in Coffeyville and South Coffeyville where they raised their children.  He and Janice enjoyed bowling in leagues during their younger years.  They were members of the Emmanuel Church in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma.

Ron was a hardworking, kind and compassionate man.  He loved caring for animals and would take in any sick or injured animals he found and would nurse them back to health so they could be safely released.  Among the many critters, he had a special hawk and an owl that he would feed raw hamburger to.  His actions set a good example for his children that they now try to emulate in their own lives.  Ron liked to watch Dallas Cowboys football, he also liked to hunt and fish; he had homing pigeons that he’d take hundreds of miles away and they would beat him back home.  He was an avid C.B. Radio enthusiast, he referred to having a home base and mobile units.  The girls had a good laugh recalling all the handles they each went by back in the day, Ron was “Snowman”, Janice was “Paper Lady”, and the three girls were “Roly Poly”, “Lollipop: and “Butterfly”.  Most of all Ron loved the time he spent surrounded by his loving family.

He is survived by his children, Lori Rexwinkle and husband, Justin of Afton, Oklahoma, Lisa Holeman and husband, Chris of Coffeyville, Kansas, Teresa Lundy and husband, Curtis of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma, and Ronnie Clark, Jr., of Delaware, Oklahoma; thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, siblings, Cora Tharp of Topeka, Kansas, Pam Lewis of Cottonwood Falls, Kansas and Earl Tallman of San Francisco, California along with numerous extended relatives and friends.

Ron was preceded in death by his father, Albert Clark, mother, Violet Tallman, wife, Janice Kay Clark, daughter, Julie Diane Clark, granddaughter, Kristin Michelle Lundy, siblings, Nellora, Janie, Wilma and Diane.

Following Ron’s wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction of David W Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.  Memorial Services will be held on Friday, December 10, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Emmanuel Chapel in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma.  Pastor James Feltner will officiate.
