Ronald Fulton Zellers

Ronald Fulton Zellers, age 76, of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

 

Ronald or "Ron" as he was more commonly known, was born on May 20, 1945 in Northampton, Pennsylvania to Charles and Arlene (Heffelfinger) Zellers. He grew up in the area and graduated from Parkland High School. Ron proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.

 

Ron was a talented and hard worker. He had a strong work ethic that led him through a lifelong career of working on large trucks as a heavy load mechanic and as a transportation truck driver.

 

On January 16, 1997 he was united in marriage to Dianna Fortenberry in Miami, Oklahoma. With their families blended they felt complete. They resided in Newkirk, Oklahoma for a time and moved to South Coffeyville in 2013 where they have resided ever since. Ron was a man of faith, he attended church at Emmanuel Chapel in South Coffeyville. He enjoyed working with his hands, hunting and was a gun enthusiast.

 

Surviving to honor his memory are his loving wife, Dianna Zellers of the home; children, Robert Zellers of Pennsylvania, Randy Zellers of Wichita Kansas, Chris Zellers of Colorado, Duane Frazier of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, Amy Frazier of Arkansas City, Kansas, Laura Zellers of Independence, Kansas; two grandchildren, two great grandchildren; sister Diane Kruk of Pennsylvania along with numerous extended relatives and close friends. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Arlene Zellers and his brother, Charles “Peanut” Zellers.

 

Following Ron's wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction of David W Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville, Kansas.

 

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Emmanuel Chapel in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma. Pastor James Feltner will officiate. The Coffeyville VFW Post 1022 and American Legion Post 20 will provide military honors.

 

The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to Emmanuel Chapel. These can be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W Barnes Funeral Home 306 N Cline Rd, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
