John Larry Coons age 79 of Coffeyville passed away November 17, 2021 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.
John was born in Coffeyville on July 11, 1942 to Marion and Alice (Osborn) Coons. John lived in the Fawn Creek area his entire life except for a brief while when he proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged he returned home where he owned and operated a dairy farm. John married Joyce (Bean) Stair on September 18, 1982. John retired from the dairy farm in 2013 he then continued to raise stock cattle until his death.
John’s memories will live on with his wife Joyce, sons; Steve and Curtis Stair, daughters; Renee Smith and Diana Guiles, his sister Charlotte Hiett, grandchildren; Dustin Guiles, Jessica Guiles, Rena Stair, Shelby Stair, and Mark Smith, great-grandchildren; Anastasia Guiles, James Manard, Alexandra Manard, and Lily Guiles.
He now rests with his parents, his brothers; Carl and Delbert Coons, and his sister Shirley Garner.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at 10:00 am at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel with Pastor Jamie Regis officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 22, 2021 at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Inurnment will take at a later date in Fawn Creek Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made payable to the Dearing Christian Church and they may be sent in care of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel 2405 Woodland Ave. Coffeyville, KS 67337.
