Vicky Diane Ashmore

Our beloved, Vicky Diane Ashmore, was born January 16, 1959, in Indio, California. She passed peacefully on October 16, 2021, in Coffeyville, Kansas. Vicky is the third child of seven children born to Bobby and Mary Oldham.

 

Vicky started school at Hinkley Community School in Hinkley, California until the family relocated to Lompoc, California, where she further attended elementary, Jr. and Sr. High schools. She spent over 40 years working in food service and was fantastic at her job and loved it very much.

 

Vicky is preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Ashmore; son, Timothy Ashmore and infant daughter, Sarah Johnson; brother, Kelly Oldham and her parents, Bobby and Mary.

 

Vicky enjoyed music and dancing. Football, baseball, and basketball were commonplace at her table. In fact, her table was always full of family and friends around it as her fun-loving and carefree personality drew family and friends to her.

 

Vicky is survived by her daughter, Brandy (Johnson) Gibson and fiancé Che Bhagwandin of Plano Texas; grandsons, Trae Gibson of Plano, Texas, Desi Gibson and wife, Tiara of Denver, Colorado, Jaeci Gibson of Plano, Texas; granddaughters, Alannah Reid of Plano, Texas, Regina and Jasmine Ashmore of Little Rock, Arkansas; great granddaughters, Paisley and Paige Bennett of Little Rock, Arkansas, son, Reggie Ashmore also of Little Rock, Arkansas as well as daughter, Catrece Davis.

 

Vicky is also survived by four sisters, Deborah Gaither and husband, Gary Gaither of Texas, Tracy Jackson of Garnett, Kansas, Pamela Bouknight of Coffeyville, Kansas and Rhonda Sutherland and husband, Johnny Sutherland also of Coffeyville, Kansas; one brother, Robert Oldham and wife, Olivia of Springfield, Missouri; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews throughout the USA and a surviving aunt, Margaret Oldham of Texas.

 

Following Vicky's wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. 

 

Graveside Memorial Services will be held by the family on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Patio at Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville. Pastor Judy Mustain will officiate.  A Celebration of Life gathering is to follow for family and friends.

 

The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital; these may be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home 306 N. Cline Rd. Coffeyville, KS 67337.
