Jared P. Britt, age 42, formerly of southeast Kansas was taken by his Savior on Sunday, October 3, 2021 in Osawatomie, Kansas.

Jared was born on January 21, 1979 at Silas B. Hayes Hospital in Fort Ord, California, the second son to William (Mike) Michael Britt, Sr. and Linda (Kebert) Britt.  He was more commonly referred to by family as “Bubba”.

The family lived in southeast Kansas where Jared grew up and attended school, graduating from Independence High School in 1997.  Throughout high school he was active in football.  He would often be found at the rec center shooting hoops and playing basketball or with a pole in his hand out fishing any chance he got. 

Jared is survived by his father, William “Mike” (Arlene) Britt, Sr. of Independence, Kansas; his mother, Linda Britt also of Independence, Kansas; two brothers, William “Will” (Trisha) Britt, Jr. of Coffeyville, Kansas  and Christopher “Chris” (Ashley) Britt of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; sister, Melissa Britt of Independence, Kansas; nieces and nephews, Tristan, Bianca, Gavin and Tatum; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended relatives, and friends.  He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Oscar A. Britt, Sr. and Francis Smith-Britt; and maternal grandmother, Doris J. Barragar-Martin.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at the Word of Faith Church in Coffeyville, Kansas at 1:00 p.m.  Pastor Gary Close will officiate.  Burial will follow at Robbins Cemetery west of Coffeyville.

The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to the Coffeyville Rec Center; these may be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home 306 N. Cline Rd., Coffeyville, KS 67337.
