Junior Lee Haynes

Junior Lee Haynes, age 82, passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2021.

He was born in Bremen, Alabama on November 19, 1939 to Jay Haynes and Verla Haynes, both deceased. Junior graduated from Westpoint High School in Westpoint, Alabama. On March 13, 1963, he married Judith Anne Pinnell. They had one son, Orval Jay Haynes.

Junior was an ordained minister with the United Pentecostal Church International for over 50 years. He served as pastor of several churches throughout his life, as well as serving on various boards and committed for the United Pentecostal Church International.


 In 1969, he founded the First United Pentecostal Church in Coffeyville, Kansas, located at 3408 W 8th St. He also worked at the First National Bank of Coffeyville, Kansas. Throughout his life, he also pastored churches in Chanute, Kansas, Iola, Kansas, Wheeler, Alabama, Fall River, Massachusetts, Snyder, Texas, Pecos, Texas, and at the time of his retirement in 2012, he was the Pastor of the United Pentecostal Church in Memphis, Texas. Junior also served on executive boards for the United Pentecostal Church International in Kansas and Alabama. At the time of his retirement, the family moved to Hollister, Missouri, where he lived until his death.


Junior is survived by his wife, Judith Haynes; one son, Orval Haynes, and one brother, Wintford Haynes. He was a loving Husband, Father, Pastor, and Friend. He wanted to be remembered as a Preacher of Righteousness!


Junior will be buried at Robbins Cemetery in Coffeyville, Kansas and a memorial service will be held at Freedom Apostolic Church in Branson West, Missouri.
