Judy Charlene Wilmoth

Judy Charlene Wilmoth age 61 of Tyro, KS passed away Wednesday, the 6th of October at home. She had recently moved to Overland Park, KS where she lived with her brother Jim and wife Rose.

 

Judy was born on September 17, 1960 in Coffeyville, KS to James and Charline Wilmoth and lived in a home built by her father where she lived independently the majority of her life.

 

Judy graduated from Caney Valley High School in 1979, following graduation she attended New Beginnings. She worked in the food service industry in the cafeteria in the Caney and Independence schools for many years. She later went to work at Windsor Place of Coffeyville, Kansas in 2004 where she was able to work in the cafeteria and care for her mother while she was there. She continued working at Windsor until the pandemic in 2020.

 

She was a member of Tyro Christian Church where she had many friends who she enjoyed seeing every Sunday. She knew no Stranger! She loved going on shopping adventures with her brother and her Aunt Jeananne. When Christmas time came around everyone looked forward to receiving their annual calendar from her.

 

Judy loved life and making people happy. She never had a bad day! Her favorite saying was, “I’m Happy Today”.

 

She also had a love for Chuck Norris, America and the Red/White and Blue.

 

In her last 4 months she lived in Overland Park, KS. She was so excited to move to the “BIG CITY”. She was surrounded by friends and family where she considered every day a party.

 

She is survived by her brother Jim Wilmoth and wife Rose of Overland Park, KS, sister in law Marsha Wilmoth of Tyro, KS, Nephews Brad and wife Valorie Wilmoth and family of St. Louis, MO, Scott Wilmoth and family of Wentzville, MO, Jason and wife Gennifer Davis and family of Blue Springs, MO, and nieces Megan and husband Craig Smail and family of Leawood, KS, Michele Jacobs, Sharon Weigand, and Leslie Littlepage.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents James Wilmoth, mother Charline Gross Wilmoth, brother Charles Wilmoth.

 

Memorial graveside services will be held on Saturday,  October 16, 2021 at 11:00am at Fawn Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers dentations can be made to Tatman Cancer Center and they may be sent in care of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel 2405 Woodland Ave Coffeyville, KS 67337.
