Shirley Ann Bellamy

Shirley Ann Bellamy, age 72, passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Medicalodges Nursing Home in Coffeyville. 

Shirley was born on October 18, 1948 in Mattoon, Illinois to John “Dean” Franklin and Evelyn Faye (Garver) Phillippi.  Her family moved to Oklahoma when she was young and that’s where she grew up and attended school. 

On July 10, 1972 she was united in marriage to Dennis Ray Bellamy, Sr. in Claremore, Oklahoma.  The couple made their home in the Coffeyville area where they raised their children.  Shirley was a homemaker, in addition to caring for the home and the children she was enjoyed cooking and going to rummage sales.  Most of all she loved the time she spent surrounded by her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. 

Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Dennis Bellamy, Jr. of Coffeyville, Kansas; Jimmy Cantrell and wife, Gretta of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; brothers, Leroy Phillippi and wife, Linda, Jerry Phillippi and wife, Tommie and Vernon Phillippi along with several nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Dean and Evelyn Phillippi; loving husband, Dennis Bellamy; sister, Judy and a brother, John F. Phillippi, Jr.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. for friends and family to come throughout the day for viewing and to sign the guest register at David W Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. 

Following Shirley’s wishes, cremation will take place at a later date under the direction of David W Barnes Funeral Home. 

A Graveside Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, September 15th at 11:00 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville.
