Monty Ray White

Monty Ray White passed away at the age of 74 in Tahlequah Oklahoma. Olen "Happy" White and Grace Truman (Yoeman) White welcomed their 6th baby boy on March 13, 1947. He was welcomed by his 5 older brothers in Coffeyville Kansas. He attended Altamont High School where he graduated and continued work on the family farm near Coffeyville.

In 1961, through a blind date arranged by mutual friends Monty met Norma Jean Rogers. The two were married in 1966 and welcomed their first child a year later. They lived in Coffeyville Kansas where Monty continued to work the family farm, drive trucks and work at Haliburton. Jean drove a school bus and worked at Walmart.

Upon their divorce twenty-seven years later, Monty moved from the family farm to over the road trucking. He had a love for doing his own thing and being his own boss.

Monty is preceded in death by his father and mother, his brothers, Bill White and Tommy White, and grandson, Timio White.

Monty had two children Montica Jan White and Thomas Olen White. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.  Montica remembers during her teenage years her father telling her "Remember who you are, " whenever she left the house. His son Thomas speaks of how he taught him to farm and love the land.

He never met a stranger and counted many among his friends.
