Elizabeth Marie Scott

Elizabeth Marie Scott, age 96, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center in Coffeyville.

Elizabeth was born on February 2, 1925 in Noxie, Oklahoma to John and Eliza Jane (Hughboom) Seals.  She grew up in rural Oklahoma and attended school in Copan, Oklahoma.

On March 14, 1944 she married the love of her life, Charles Wm. Scott, Sr. in Nowata, Oklahoma.  The couple made their home on the family farm near Caney, Kansas.  They moved to Coffeyville in 1954 and raised their children there.  In addition to taking care of her family and home, Elizabeth also worked for Continental Can and Automotive Controls Corp where she worked in manufacturing until she retired.

Elizabeth was a member of the First Baptist Church in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma.  The family spent nearly every weekend fishing on the lake while the kids were growing up.  She was great at cooking and baking.  She loved crocheting and was an amazing seamstress and made many performance outfits for her granddaughter, Haylie. Elizabeth and Charles attended many of Charles Jr. and grandson, Chuck's auto racing events.  They traveled to nearly all of Haylie’s musical performances throughout the years, including trips to Nashville, Tennessee to show their support.  Elizabeth loved her dogs and family unconditionally and she will be missed by all that knew her.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Charles Wm. Scott, Jr. (Jackie) of rural Coffeyville, Kansas, Patricia Elizabeth Walter (John Fraser) of Coffeyville, Kansas; granddaughter, Haylie (Walter) Bagwell  (Shane) of Coffeyville, Kansas; great grandson, Tyner Lee Bagwell.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, John and Eliza Seals; loving husband of 70 years, Charles Scott, Sr.; grandson, Charles "Chuck" Wm. Scott, III; two brothers and four sisters.
