Steve Scott Walterscheid

Stephen Scott Walterscheid, of Jenks, OK passed away January 4, 2018 at the age of 72. Steve was living at Grace Living Center in Jenks, OK the last year of his life.  

Steve is preceded in death by his Father, Patrick D Walterscheid; Aunt and Uncle Norman & Nila Phipps; and Grandparents, George & Nelle Scott.

 

Steve grew up in Coffeyville and graduated from Field Kindly Memorial High School in 1963.  He loved swimming, diving, boating and skiing.  Anything on the water.    After graduation he started his career with Jungles Baking Co. where he worked until they closed the factory in Coffeyville.  Steve than moved to Tulsa, OK for Wonder Bread Bakery where he remained until his retirement.  Steve was very active in the Bakery Union and his work family.  Steve made many trips to St. Louis to visit his mother, sister and nieces over the years, he enjoyed being with his family and his unique quality of telling his stories of the bakery and times with friends. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

 

Survivors include one sister, Patti J Sexton (Mike) of Lake St Louis, MO; two nieces, Betsy Mellon (Gary) and Michelle Seifert (Kipp).  Great nephew, Trey Mellon, Great nieces, Mia, Sloane and Sutton Seifert. Beloved Uncle Pete Walterscheid (Nancy) and many beloved cousins, Barbara Scowley, Debbie Melies (Paul), and so many great cousins.

 

Graveside remembrance will be held May 1, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Veterans Memorial Patio in Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville, KS.  Inurnment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park.
