Frances Elizabeth Smith, Independence, passed away on Tuesday, March 2nd, 2021.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, March 11th, 2021 at Potts Chapel at 11:00am. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 10th from 1:00-7:00pm, with family greeting friends 5:00-7:00pm. The service will stream live on the Potts Chapel Independence Facebook page.
Frances Elizabeth Smith was born on January 11th, 1944 in Independence, Kansas. She was the only child of Jesse and Elizabeth (Hinthorn) Simpson. She graduated from Independence High School in 1962. After school she worked in the dietary aid departments at area nursing homes, MERCY Hospital, Independence Community College and Pizza Hut.
On August 13th, 1984 Frances married the love of her life, Alvin Smith in Miami, Oklahoma.
She enjoyed to crochet and do yard work.
Preceding her in death were her parents and son Chad Smith.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Alvin, daughters: Vicki Ainesworth and Tracy Anderson, sons: Curtis Brown and Dennis Heath, 8 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
