Sue was born on May 8, 1948 in Coffeyville, Kansas to Albert and Alice (Pike) Kenworthy.  She grew up in Coffeyville where she graduated from Field Kindley High School and attended Coffeyville Community College.

On September 23, 1967 she married the love of her life, Duane Carpenter in rural Coffeyville, Kansas at the Central Baptist Church.  The couple made Coffeyville their home where they raised their children.  In addition to taking care of her home and family, Sue worked many years in Coffeyville as a bank teller.  She began at what was originally First National Bank that went through several name changes, then went to work for Condon Bank and Trust until her retirement.  Sue enjoyed the many people she met and looked forward to the familiar faces that would come to her teller window.  You could often find her at the Condon Motor Bank located at 8th and Beech with her warm and friendly smile.

Sue was a member of Grace Fellowship Church.  Some of her hobbies included bowling, shopping, traveling; and for a time she traveled all around taking her kids to bowling tournaments.  Most of all she loved spending time with her family and being with her grandchildren.
