Georgia Lynne (Barker) Hoppock

Georgia Lynne (Barker) Hoppock of Dearing, Kansas passed away on January 18th 2021 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.

 

Georgia was born on March 1st 1956 in Columbus, Kansas to Eddie Barker and Ada Marie (Robinson) Barker. Georgia graduated from Columbus High School in 1974 and went on to study Cosmetology and graduate from Pittsburg State University in 1976.

 

Georgia moved to Coffeyville Kansas in 1977 and worked at Deb Annes Beauty Salon before moving to Dearing to own and operate Georgias Style Shop. Georgia ran a successful business for over 30 years in Dearing until she closed the shop in 2018.  Georgia was active and supportive in the community; she managed the Hook and Ladder Cafe in Dearing for many years. Georgia and her husband own and operated rental properties in Dearing . She was loved by many people and always had that same love to give right back, she was always up to help someone in need and enjoyed spending her time with friends and family. Family was the most important thing to her. Georgia had a solid work ethic; she was a trusting and loyal friend, a supportive and loving mother and a dedicated partner.

 

Georgia was proceeded in death by both her parents and her stepson, Ross Hoppock.

 

She is survived by her husband, Steve Hoppock, Dearing Kansas; her son, Christopher Nelson, Coffeyville Kansas; her stepdaughter, Katelynn Hoppock, New York City New York; and one sister, Toni McKinney and nephew Tim McKinney of Webb City Missouri.

 

There will be no services at this time, the family asks that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association; contributions may be left with or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
