Kenneth Roy Cunningham

Kenneth Roy Cunningham, 67, of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma passed away on Friday, December 11, 2020 at St John’s Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

 

Kenneth was born on September 23, 1953 in Coffeyville, Kansas to Glen and Esther (Roach) Cunningham.  He grew up in Nowata County, Oklahoma where he went to school in South Coffeyville then he went to Lenapah where he graduated high school.

On May 31, 1974 he married the love of his life, Christine Blackbourn.  The couple made their home in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma where they raised their two daughters.  In his younger years he played softball.  His hobbies also included hunting, fishing, bowling and playing pool.  He was self-employed until recent years when he went to work for the Rural Water District in South Coffeyville. He loved to cook, and loved animals; he had a soft spot for the dogs on his RWD route.  Most of all he loved the time he spent surrounded by his family and took great pride in his granddaughter, Layla.

 

Surviving to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Christine Cunningham of the home; daughters, Laura Cunningham of Coffeyville, Kansas, Tracy Laintz and husband, Adam of Joplin, Missouri; granddaughter, Layla Laintz; siblings, Johnny Dodson and wife, Mary of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma, Linda Morrow of Dewey, Oklahoma, Carol Cunningham of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma, Darrell Cunningham and wife, Lori of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; brother-in-law, Wayne Blackbourn and wife, Debbie of Walnut, Kansas; as well as many nieces, nephews and close friends.  Kenneth was preceded in death by his Parents, Glen and Esther Cunningham.

 

Following Kenneth’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Kenneth’s Life will take place at a later date.

The family suggests memorials can be made to the Coffeyville Friends of Animals; contributions can be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W Barnes Funeral Home 306 N Cline Rd. Coffeyville, KS 67337.
