Alice Dora Adler-Thomason

Alice Dora Adler-Thomason age 51, passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at her home in Coffeyville, Kansas.

Alice was born on January 20, 1969 to Earl Gary and Minerva “Minnie” (Buiterira) Thomason in Brownsville, Texas.  The Thomason family moved to Coffeyville when Alice was in elementary school.  She attended Garfield Grade School and completed her education at Field Kindley High School.

Alice was a hard worker and loved just as hard as she worked.   She had an amazing love for daughter, Nikki and son, Corey.  She was a young single mother who worked 2-3 jobs to care for her children, always putting their needs before her own.  After her children were grown, she continued to care for others even after her health had started to decline.  Alice was currently working part-time for SKILL as a personal care attendant.

When her children were older Alice met and married Jack Adler in Bartlesville, OK. They returned to Coffeyville,KS when employment relocation was an option. This allowed Alice to be closer to her mom in her final days. Though they had their difference they continued to share a great friendship.

Alice adored cats, she enjoyed life with laughter, visiting with friends, and keeping in contact with all forms of social media.  When her mother, Minnie was still living they enjoyed going to play BINGO and going to the Casino.  Her drink of choice was Diet Dr. Pepper and you could often find her in a pair of Flip Flops even in inclement weather conditions.

When Alice became a Grandma that is when you saw a new sparkle in her and a heart bursting with love.  She absolutely loved being a Grandma, she loved her grandchildren and proudly told everyone about them. You could call her the “best grandma ever.”

Alice will be missed by so many friends, coworkers, neighbors and extended family, but  most of all by her children, Katheryne “Nikki” and her husband Salvador Leal, Corey Thomason and his partner Sam McWhirt Jr.; grandchildren, Nuhemi, Alexander, Ulises, Florecita and Esmeralda Thomason; sisters, Mary Petty, Cecilia Moncada; brother, Gary E. Thomason Jr.. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Services celebrating Alice’s life will be held 2 pm on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Coffeyville First Assembly of God, 1504 W 8th St, Coffeyville, KS 67337.  The family welcomes those who don’t feel comfortable attending the service to sign the register or view from 1 pm until service time.
