Delos Leon Hagebusch

Delos Leon Hagebusch, age 94, of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family. 

 

Delos was born on January 9, 1926 in Childers, Oklahoma to Edward and Ruth (McKibben) Hagebusch.  He grew up in Nowata County where he attended school. 

 

On January 31, 1958 he married Iva Norene King at the Nazarene Church in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Following their marriage they made their home in Coffeyville, Kansas where they raised their children. After retiring they moved to their home in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma

 

Throughout his long life, Delos worked a few different jobs.  His senior year in high school he drove a school bus; after that he worked for a dairy barn; he worked at the charged pits helping farmers dip cattle, and for International Harvester in Nowata, Oklahoma, and later drove a truck for Ruan and C & H  He primarily worked for Bankers Dispatch, Wells Fargo and Pony Express as a courier. 

Delos was a longtime active member of Central Church of the Nazarene in Coffeyville.  He enjoyed gardening and raising cattle.  Most of all he loved the time he spent surrounded by his family and friends. 

 

Surviving to honor his memory are one daughter, Janirene Kimrey and husband, Jake of rural Welch, Oklahoma; three sons, Carl Hagebusch and wife, Nita of Grove, Oklahoma, David Hagebusch and wife, Carol of Coffeyville, Kansas, and Daren Hagebusch and wife, Keri of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma; twelve grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, and twenty great-grandchildren; brother, James E. Hagebusch of Nowata, Oklahoma; along with several other close relatives and friends. 

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Ruth Hagebusch; daughter, Deanna Kay Hagebusch, brother, Lindel Hagebusch; sister, Janilee Reeves; brothers-in-law, Orville and Morris King; sisters-in-law Thelma, sister-in-law, Lura Duncan, Willie King and Maude Harrelson.

 

Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 30, 2020 at the Central Church of the Nazarene in Coffeyville with Pastor Joel Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park in Coffeyville.

 

Friends may call on Thursday from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.

The family suggests memorials to Compassas Hospice; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
