Edwin Hartley Halsey

Edwin Hartley Hulsey, age 95, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at Windsor Place Nursing Home in Coffeyville. 

 

Edwin was born on March 17, 1925 in Welch, Oklahoma to Eddie and Sarah (Greene) Hulsey. He grew up in Chetopa, Kansas where he attended local schools and graduated from Chetopa High School. After graduating Edwin served in the United States Navy during World War II. After three years of service he received an honorable discharge.

 

In 1943 he married the love of his life, Lily Kathryn Linchticum in Labette, Kansas.  The couple made their home in Chetopa for three years then moved to Coffeyville, Kansas where they resided the 9rest of their lives.  Edwin worked for Junge Bakery in Coffeyville until his retirement. The couple used to enjoy square dancing. Edwin liked to fish and to spend time surrounded by his family and friends. 

He is survived by his daughter, Edwina Allison and husband, Larry of Cherryvale, Kansas; grandson, James Michael Wilkinson and wife, Lisa Marie of Wichita, Kansas; great grandchildren, Tim, Trinity and Thaden Wilkinson along with numerous other close relatives and friends. 

 

Edwin was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Sarah Hulsey; loving wife, Lily Kathryn Hulsey; brothers, Glen and Ray Hulsey;  sisters, Lucille Smith and Dean Davidson. 

 

Following Edwin’s wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction of David W Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.  No public services are scheduled at this time.
