Patricia "Patti" Jean (Eden) Sears

Patricia “Patti” Jean (Eden) Sears, age 65, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Monday, October 12, 2020 at Wilson Medical Center in Neodesha, Kansas.

 

Patti was born on October 24, 1954 in Coffeyville, Kansas to William G. and Deloris N. (Kolb) Eden.  She grew up in Coffeyville where she attended local schools and graduated from Field Kindley High School.  After graduation she took a job with Automotive Control now known as Standard Motor in Independence, Kansas and worked there until retiring after 35 years of service.  She worked in a few different departments throughout the years as her health would allow.  At the time of retirement she was working in the offices as a secretary.  Patti went on to work for Cessna in Independence for around 6 years.

 

Patti was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Coffeyville, Kansas.  She enjoyed church and all the friends she made there.  For many years she was a Sunday school teacher.  Patti was avid bowler and spent many years as a youth bowling instructor and coordinator for the youth bowling league.  In earlier years she enjoyed riding motorcycles with her dad.  In more recent years she enjoyed playing cards with the girls on Friday nights, table games, and computer games.  She loved to meet up with her aunt and uncle, Doloris and Bentley Vanderhoof over in Joplin, Missouri for visits.

 

Surviving to honor her memory are her siblings, Robert “Bob” Eden and wife, Mary of Coffeyville, Kansas, Judy Hayes and husband, Brion of Liberty, Kansas; she didn’t have kids of her own but had a special bond with her nephew, Mike Hayes and nieces, Nikki (Hayes) Trotter and husband, Brett, Amber Parker and husband, Shawn and Ashley Woods and husband, Kent; great nieces and nephews, Gracie Hayes, Nash Trotter, Bryson and Kassidy Woods and Emilee, Brandon, Lucy and Noah Parker; aunt Doloris Vanderhoof and husband, Bentley of Springfield, Missouri along with several other relatives and close friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Deloris Eden.

 

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 16, 2020 at David W Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville, Kansas from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.  Family will greet friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

 

Due to the current Covid-19 conditions the family has chosen Graveside Services that will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Robbins Cemetery west of Coffeyville, Kansas.  Pastor Randy DePriest will officiate.

 

The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Assembly of God Church; these may be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W Barnes Funeral Home 306 N Cline Rd. Coffeyville, KS 67337.
