Martha Ray Coons

Martha Ray Coons age 76 of Coffeyville passed away on October 12, 2020 at Jane Phillips Medical Center.

Martha was born along with her twin sister on April 4, 1944 in Coffeyville to Ray and Ruth (Hawkins) Donaghe. The family lived in Kansas City while Martha was a child before returning home to Coffeyville where Martha graduated from Field Kindley High School. Martha was united in marriage to Delbert Coons and the couple was blessed with two sons. Martha worked as a receptionist for many years at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. She enjoyed crafting, watching the news and the daily stock market, she enjoyed going to the casinos to play the slots, and she absolutely loved shopping, she would shop for others, above everything else spending time with her family was her most cherished time on earth. Martha was honest, very honest some might even say she could be blunt; she was a truly giving soul, and she was always there for anyone in need.

Martha’s memories will live on with her son Teddy Coons, brother Raymond Donaghe, sister Sharon Shamblin, grandchildren; Lindsay Juarez, Bryan Coons, Randy Coons, and Nikki Coons, great-grandchildren; Chris Crosetto and Maya Juarez.

She now rests with her husband Delbert, son Bill Coons, sisters; Carol Garner and Kathie McBeath, and great-granddaughter Brooke Coons.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 16, 2020 at 11:00am at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel with Pastor Doug Mund officiating; masks and social distancing are recommended. Burial will immediately follow at Robbins Cemetery. Friends are invited to sign the register and greet the family on Thursday, October 15, 2020 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Chapel.
