Brenda Marie (Battaglia) Holmes, age 69, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at her home.

 

Brenda was born on July 19, 1951 in Shell Beach, Louisiana to Anthony and Viola (Keiff) Battaglia.  She grew up in Saint Bernard, Louisiana where she attended local schools.

 

On August 19, 1967 she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Rocky Holmes in Saint Bernard, Louisiana where the couple made their home for 35+ years.  Rocky preceded her in death in 2002.

 

Brenda worked for Harrah’s Casino as a blackjack dealer and for Schwegmanns Grocery as a cashier/teller.  She enjoyed watching Netflix, knitting, sewing and quilting.  Most of all she loved the time she spent with her children and grandchildren.

 

Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Rocky Joseph Holmes, Jr. and wife, Lois of Saint Bernard, Louisiana, Justin Holmes and wife, Kelli, Derek Holmes and wife, Amanda all of Coffeyville, Kansas; grandchildren, Hailey, Amy, Justin Jr. “JJ” and Nathan Holmes, Emily Hood, Nevaeh, Annabelle, Gabriel and Lillian Lee; sisters-in-law, Carol Battaglia and Rhonda Holmes both of Louisiana; brother-in-law, Wayne Holmes and wife, Donna of Folsom, Louisiana; nieces and nephews, Pauline Cox, Anthony Battaglia III, Christine Romero, Kevin and Karen Holmes, Ted Holmes, Jr., Terri Hutchinson and Krystal Guillory.

 

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Viola Battaglia; loving husband, Rocky and her brother, Anthony Battaglia, Jr.

 

Following Brenda’s wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville, Kansas.  Private family services will take place at a later date.
