Billy C. White

Billy C. White, 81, of rural Liberty, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at Windsor Place in Coffeyville.

 

He was born on June 17, 1939 at Coffeyville to Clyde and Grace (Yeoman) White. Billy grew up on the family farm northeast of Coffeyville and attended Clymore Grade School and completed his education graduating from Labette County High School.

 

He married Patricia Vaughn following their marriage they made their home in the Liberty area where Billy farmed and they raised their three sons. They were later divorced.

 

On May 24, 1988 he married Iva (Drummond) Wilmoth Dannels and gained three more children. Following their marriage they lived in the Angola area and for a short time operated a greenhouse in the Angola area later moving to the farm in rural Liberty. Iva preceded him in death on November 12, 2005.

 

Throughout Billy’s life he farmed and raised cattle. He attended Emmanuel Southern Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to dances at the Senior Citizens Center and loved spending time with his family.

 

Survivors include two sons, William White and wife, Peggie of Lenapah, Oklahoma, and Doug White and wife, Delia of Wyandotte, Oklahoma; three step-children, Bill Wilmoth and wife, Melissa of Coffeyville, Stella O’Brien and husband, Ron of Cherryvale, and Betty Jacobs and husband, Stanley of Cherryvale; four brothers, Gene White and wife, Linda of Ulysses, Larry White and wife, Karen of Collinsville, Oklahoma, Ronnie “Sonny” White and wife, Kay of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma, and Monte White of Oklahoma; six grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Grace White; one brother, Tommy White; one son, Daniel White; and one grandson.

Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday, September 21, 2020 at Restlawn Memorial Park in Coffeyville.

Friends may call on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will greet friends on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

 

The family suggests memeorials to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
