Diane (Strickland) Franklin

Diane (Strickland) Franklin, 65 of Coffeyville, Kansas entered her forever home August 26th,2020 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma surrounded by loved ones.

 

Diane was born September 25th, 1954 to Willie (Hamp) & Bernice Strickland in Plummerville, Arkansas. She attended school here in Coffeyville at Whittier and Field Kindly.

 

She met the love of her life James Franklin in 1995 and they were united in marriage on August 15th, 1997 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. They lived in many places but eventually made their home in Coffeyville.

 

Diane worked at many places like Rita’s Café, Med Source, AIW and the Chuck Wagon, Ron’s BBQ. Her heart was with Acme where she worked for almost 10 years until she retired in 1988.

 

Diane was a member of Berean Christian Mission Church, in Independence, Kansas. She made the best Chicken and dressing and peach cobbler and always made enough food to feed an army. She had a big heart and absolutely loved her kids and grandkids. She had her hand in raising us all with strict criticism and she didn’t mind cussing us out when needed, that’s one thing we miss the most, but she did it with nothing but love in her heart. Grandkids never left her house empty handed.

 

Diane was preceded in death by her parents Willie and Bernice Strickland. Brothers Thomas “Tinky” Strickland, Willie Strickland, Wilbur Strickland. Sisters LillyAnn Strickland and Gladys Strickland.

 

She leaves to cherish her memories her loving husband of the home James franklin. Daughters Rochelle Strickland and Patricia (William) Britt. Sisters Paula (Raquel) Banks, Martha (Ricky) Littlejohn. Brother William “Tinky” Strickland (Kassandra). Special Sister in law Jeanette Headley, who always was there when Diane needed her.

 

Diane leaves to keep her legacy going with her 7 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren and host of special nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

 

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Berean Mission Church 405 S. 19th St. Independence, Kansas.  Pastor Michael Rose will officiate.  Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville, Kansas. 

 

Friends may sign the guest register at the funeral home on Sunday, September 6, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. prior to the service.
