Curtis R. White

Curtis R. White, 74, of Coffeyville passed away Monday, August 17, 2020 at his home.

 

He was born on March 30, 1946 at Exeter, California to Melvin E. and Amy E. (Johnson) White. Curtis grew up and attended school in Exeter and Woodlake, California, graduating from Exeter High School.

 

On November 27, 1970 he married Deborah Owens at Woodlake, California. Following their marriage they made their home in California until moving to Coffeyville in the early 2000’s, they later moved to Wilburton, Oklahoma where they made their home for 16 years returning to Coffeyville in June of this year.

 

Curtis was a member of Jehovah Witnesses. For many years he worked as a bus driver for disabled residents in Latimer County, Oklahoma. He loved playing golf and spending time with his family.

 

Survivors include his wife Deborah of the home; his four children, Helen Yvonne Hensley and husband, Allen of Visalia, California, Andrew Lee “Andy” White and wife, Holly of Coffeyville, Curtis Melvin “Rocky” White of Port Angeles, Washington, and Robert James White and wife, Amanda of Wilburton, Oklahoma; one brother, Alan Lee White of Visalia, California; one sister, Melva Hensley of Fallon, Nevada; and numerous grandchildren. He is also survived by Jason and Jamie Wohlgemuth who Curtis and Deborah considered an important part of their family.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Robert Melvin White and infant sister, Ruth Loraine White.

 

Following Curtis’ wishes cremation has taken place under the direction of the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. A memorial service celebrating Curtis’ life will take place at a later date.
