Frances Virginia (Hunley) Daley

Frances Virginia (Hunley) Daley age 96 of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at Windsor Place. 

 

Frances was born on February 1, 1924 in Dallas, Texas to Elmer Clayton and Jessie Lou (Parham) Hunley.  She had two sisters, Lillian and Jessie and one brother, Elmer Jr.  She grew up in Dallas where she attended elementary school and junior high.  The family moved to San Antonio, Texas where Frances went to high school at Edison High School where she graduated. 

 

On August 10, 1941 she was united in marriage to Cecil Branton in Lincoln, Nebraska.  The couple had two sons, Warren and Keith Branton.  Frances worked for Zenith Cleaners as a file clerk from 1944-1947 then for American Airlines in Tulsa, Oklahoma from 1949-1952; she then helped run Villiage Squire Restaurant from 1959-1964.  Mr. Branton preceded her in death. 

On August 1, 1963 Frances married Roy C. Daley in Las Vegas, Nevada.  The couple lived in a few different places over the years.  Since 1963 Frances worked for airlines such as Bonanza, Cordova, Airwest, Hughes Airwest and Republic Airlines holding a management position since 1974 until taking early retirement in 1980.  She was bookkeeper for Roy Daley Construction Company from 1970-1992.  Mr. Daley preceded her in death. 

 

Frances was part of the CRMC Auxiliary where she worked in the Gift Shop from 1993-2000.  She enjoyed making dolls that she donated to the Presbyterian Thrift Shop along with making doll clothing for her great granddaughters, Cassidy and Lindsay from 2000-2010.  Frances loved spending her time surrounded by her family and friends. 

 

Surviving to cherish her memory are her sons, Warren “Gene” Branton and wife, Marva of Coffeyville, Kansas, Keith Branton and wife, Neiva of Lexington, Oklahoma; granddaughters, Neica Branton, and Kerry Branton both of Oklahoma, granddaughter-in-law, Kelly Branton of Overland Park, Kansas; three great granddaughter and five great grandsons. 

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Jessie Hunley; husband, Cecil M. Branton; husband, Roy C. Daley; grandson, Jeffery Alan Branton; sisters, Lillian Gertrude Reynolds and Jessie Elmerita Mers and brother, Elmer Clayton Hunley, Jr. 

 

Cremation has taken place under the direction of David W Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville, Kansas.  A celebration of Frances’ life will be held at a later date.

 

The family suggests memorial to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice; contributions may be left with or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
