Velta "Jean" (Rogers) Sitsler

Velta “Jean” (Rogers)Sitsler, 80, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on May 15, 2020.

 

Jean was born on April 15, 1940 in Garber, Oklahoma to Monty and Roberta (Powell) Rogers.  Jean earned her high school diploma.  She worked for Halliburton as a welder and for numerous years at Alderman Acres as a seamstress.

 

On June 7, 1968 she married A.J. Sitsler, Jr. in Miami, Oklahoma.  The couple made their home in Coffeyville, Kansas where they raised their three children, Michael, Jeffery and Steven.

 

Jean enjoyed crafting, quilting, playing cards, gatherings with friends and family and loved her dogs.

 

Surviving to cherish her memory are her sons, Michael (Barbara) Collins of Peggs, Oklahoma, Steven (Annie) Collins of Arvada, Colorado;a host of  grandchildren; great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Monty Rogers and Roberta Gilson; husband, A.J. Sitsler and loving son, Jeffery Collins.

 

Following Jean’s wishes cremation has taken place under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville and no service is planned at this time.

 

Memorials can be made to the charity of the donor’s choice; contributions can be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home 306 N Cline Rd Coffeyville, KS 67337.
