Maxine Evelyn Crocker

Maxine Evelyn Crocker, 99, of Caney, Kansas passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at her home.

 

She was born on December 4, 1920 at Caney to Leon and Evelyn (White) Lambillotte. Maxine grew up and attended school in Caney graduating from Caney High School.

 

On August 23, 1939 she married Carroll C. Crocker at Caney. Following their marriage they made their home in Caney, Ardmore, Oklahoma, and Bartlesville, Oklahoma while her husband was employed with Arco Pipeline Company. Following his retirement in 1978 they returned to Caney to make their home. Mr. Crocker preceded her in death on May 6, 2008.

 

Mrs. Crocker was a longtime member of the First Christian Church in Caney, she was a member of the Order of Eastern Star for over 50 years and a longtime member of the Rebekah Lodge. Mrs. Crocker enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and canning, but most of all loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and their families.

 

Survivors include one son, Max Jerry Crocker of Jacksonville, Florida; one daughter, Carolyn Kay Baker of Caney, Kansas; eight grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Mickey Crocker, and one sister, Leona Brownlee.

 

Unfortunately, no public service is planned at this time, a celebration of life will take place in the future.

 

A private family graveside service will be held at the Sunnyside Cemetery in Caney.

 

The family suggests memorials to A.W.O.L. (Animals with our love) in Independence or Coffeyville Friends of Animals, Inc.; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 N. Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
