Wanda Sue Ward

Wanda Sue Ward, 77, of Coffeyville passed away Saturday April 4, 2020 at her home.

 

She was born on October 5, 1942 at Webb City, Missouri to Ernest T. and Helen (Dickson) Rea. When she was young her family moved to the Coffeyville, Kansas area where she grew up and attended Cedar Bluff School, James School, Roosevelt Junior High and graduated from Field Kindley High School.

 

Throughout her working years Wanda worked as a bookkeeper and office manager for several different businesses in Coffeyville.

In the summer of 1975 she married Danny Ward. Following their marriage they made their home in Coffeyville. Her husband preceded her in death in 1996.

 

Wanda enjoyed going to craft shows, making jewelry, painting, loved meeting friends caring for her dog, and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her children, Kathy Palmer of Coffeyville, Ernest Maine of Caney, Duane Shores of Pryor, Oklahoma, and Deborah Mayo of Sherwood, Arkansas, two step-children, Brenda Morris and John Ward both of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; one sister, Linda Diane Eubanks of Coffeyville; two brothers, Clyde Rea of Joplin, Missouri, and Jerry Rea of Columbus, Ohio; numerous grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Helen Rea, and her husband, Danny Ward.

 

Unfortunately, there’s no planned service at this time, but a celebration of Wanda’s life will be held in the future.

 

The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society; contributions may be left with or mailed in care of the David W. Barnes Funeral
