Roman Gabriel Hand

Roman Gabriel Hand, 40, of Branson, Missouri passed away into the arms of the Lord on Monday, January 20, 2020 in Branson.

 

Roman was born on October 18, 1979 in Coffeyville, Kansas to Ronnie L. and Eileen (Rudd) Hand.  He grew up in Coffeyville where he graduated from Field Kindley High School.  After high school, Roman attended school at Coffeyville Community College.

 

While in Coffeyville he worked many years for Wal-Mart, he earned his way up to working in the Home and Garden Department.  While in Branson, Missouri he worked for a time at Silver Dollar City.

 

While living in Coffeyville, he attended church at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.  His lifelong hobby and biggest accomplishment was karate.  He was a dedicated martial artist.  He always tried his best to befriend someone and to do better each and every day.  He achieved his 3rd degree black belt with Master Rick Bailey and was the 115th to achieve black belt under Master Bailey’s organization Tang Soo Do USA.

 

Roman enjoyed playing Pokémon with his wife, Ashly, watching WWE wrestling, and he was probably the #1 biggest fan of the Kansas City Chiefs football team.  He loved the time he spent surrounded by his loving wife, close family and friends.

 

Roman is survived by his wife, Ashly of eight years; dad, Ronnie and wife, Kim Hand of Coffeyville, Kansas; siblings, Gary (Tracy) Davis of Angola, Kansas, Jesse (Tich) Meyer of Coffeyville, Kansas, Tasha (Jessica) Meyer of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Timothy Meyer of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dale and Virginia Kimmel; special friend and mentor, Jesse Moley; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, close family and friends.  He was also survived by his very special therapy dog, Bubba.

 

Roman was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Eileen and Don Free; grandmother, Ada Marie Eastham; uncle, Virgil Eastham; aunts, Beulah Mae Stone and Rita Laney along with several other relatives.

 

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. at the Agape Fellowship Church 501 E. 9th St. Coffeyville, KS 67337.  Pastor Kevin O’Connor will officiate.  Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville.

 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at the Agape Fellowship Church prior to the funeral starting at 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.  The casket will be closed prior to the service starting and will remain closed for burial.

 

The family suggests donations can be made to David W. Barnes Funeral Home to help offset the expense of funeral services or to the Moo Do Martial Arts Academy where a scholarship fund has been established in his memory; contributions can be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home 306 N. Cline Rd, Coffeyville, KS 67337
