Colleen Joyce Marsh

Colleen Joyce Marsh, 86, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at CRMC in Coffeyville. 

 

Colleen was born on May 6, 1933 in Independence, Kansas to Charles and Gladys (Blanchard) King.  She attended school In Chanute, Kansas where she graduated high school. 

 

On October 4, 1952 she was united in marriage to Eugene R. Marsh in Kansas City, Missouri.  The couple lived in Kansas City, Wichita and then to Coffeyville where they made their home.  Eugene preceded her in death on December 31, 2010. 

 

Colleen was a very hard worker.  She not only cared for their daughter and home but she maintained work outside of the home.  Some of the places she worked were, Montgomery Ward, JC Penny’s, TG & Y and Georges Cafeteria for ten years, and for the college in food service.  She was a member of the Emmanuel Southern Baptist Church.  She liked chickens, loved to bake and most of all loved the time she spent surrounded by her

family and friends. 

 

She is survived by her loving daughter, Cindy Manley and her husband, Chris of Edna, Kansas; grandchildren, Sarah Bright and husband, Micah, Shannon Manley, Tanya Malone and husband, Michael; great grandchildren, Elisah Bright, Josiah Bright, Isaiah Bright, Coltyn Crane, Madasyn Malone; brother, Robert King of Wichita, Kansas; two half-sisters, Ginger Martin and Dottie Culbertson.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Gladys King and husband, Eugene Marsh. 

 

Funeral  Services will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the Emmanuel Southern Baptist Church in Coffeyville, Kansas.  Pastor John Dixon will officiate.  Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville, Kansas. 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at David W Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. 

 

The family suggests memorials can be made to the The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Donor Services P O Box 98018 Washington DC 20090-8018; contributions can also be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home 306 N Cline Rd Coffeyville, Kansas 67337.
