Christopher Michael Isle

Christopher Michael Isle, age 45, passed from this life on November 9, 2019 at CRMC in Coffeyville, Kansas from injuries sustained in an accident.

In Independence, Kansas, on December 7, 1973 Mike and Jana (Long) Isle were blessed with a son, Christopher Michael Isle.  Chris, as everyone knows him, attended grade school in Dearing, Kansas, junior high at Roosevelt Jr. High and graduated from Field Kindley High School of Coffeyville, Kansas in 1992.  Chris had many friends, but he and his best buddy, Mike White were inseparable during those years and even into adulthood. Mike’s life was also tragically taken in an accident 11 years ago.

Chris married Cathy (Tucker) Reeves in 1995, though the couple later divorced they remained friends.  Chris and Cathy had two wonderful boys, Cody Christopher and Casey Lee.  In addition to his 2 boys he also raised Dakotah Walker as his own. Cathy later remarried and had two daughters, Jozie and MaKaelyn Reeves that Chris was very fond of as well.

The family has a long tradition of operating International tractors, and a Chevy is the only type of truck there is!  Chris enjoyed his work and his play, he liked to ride all types of ATV’s, boating and hanging out with his family and friends.  He enjoyed wrestling on the floor with his sons and nephews.  He was a big kid at heart!!! He resided in rural Coffeyville on his farm with Patches, Jack Jack and many other four-legged friends.

Chris was the owner and operator of Chris Isle Dump Truck and Backhoe for the last 10 years.  He began his career at Muller Construction Inc. in Coffeyville as a teenager and worked there for 16 years before starting his own business. He was the 3rd generation of Heavy Equipment Operator's in the family.  Chris truly loved digging dirt. His knowledge of soil types, land elevation and water drainage were a God given talent.  His talent and abilities will be missed by many.

Chris was a true friend, he wasn’t a man of many words, but he was an honest, trustworthy friend with extreme dedication to his family and friends.  He showed his love through acts of service; some people give a gift of congratulations. That wasn’t Chris, he would simply spread a load of gravel on your driveway to surprise you when you returned.

Chris and his parents were very close, he and his Dad, Mike were often found working together.  His sisters, Jennifer and Jami will forever remember and cherish memories of his teasing and tormenting only a brother could do.  He didn’t have brothers, so he told his nephews Tyler and Zach they were his brothers.

Life as his family knew it will forever be changed, but Chris’s legacy will continue through the lives of his sons, Cody and Julia Isle, Casey Isle and girlfriend Sadie Lowrey,  Dakotah and Amy Walker; girlfriend, Michelle Voelzke and her son Dakota Barnard; parents, Mike and Jana Isle; sisters, Jennifer and Russ Meek and Jami and Jared Vineyard; nephews, Tyler and Zachary Vineyard,  Lane and Kim Meek, Jake and Harley Meek; nieces, Katelyn Vineyard and Jaycee and Chase Brake; grandma, Mary Isle and many aunts and uncles and cousins and one great nephew Michael Dean Meek.  He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents and paternal grandpa.

Funeral services celebrating the life of Chris will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at 1 pm at Dearing Christian Church, 302 Independence Ave., Dearing, Kansas with Pastor Jamie Regis officiating.   Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 pm at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave., Coffeyville, Kansas.  The family has requested you to wear red to the funeral and memorial contributions be made payable to either Dearing Christian Church or Dearing Fire Department.  To leave a message of condolence for the family visit www.fordwulfbrunschapel.com
