Betty J. Brooks, 90, Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Friday November 1, 2019 at home.

Betty was born December 23, 1928 in Coffeyville, Kansas to Arthur John and Georgia May (Oneslager) Taylor. Betty attended Coffeyville schools and graduated from Field Kinley High School in 1946. On May 24, 1946 Betty married Edward Lee Brooks in Coffeyville, Kansas the couple made their home in Coffeyville, Kansas. Betty was a lifetime member of First Church of the Nazarene in Coffeyville where she served as a Sunday school and children's church teacher. Betty also enjoyed arranging flowers, reading crocheting and ceramics. When the children were older Betty was employed by Electrica in Independence, Kansas.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edward Lee Brooks, one brother and eight sisters, one daughter Lelia Polk, and one son in law Thomas Polk. Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Laura and husband Robert Robson, Coffeyville, Kansas, Rita and husband David Hanna, Coffeyville, Kansas, eight grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and 6 great- great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 8, 2019 at Ford Wulf Bruns Chapel with burial to follow in Restlawn Cemetery. Friends may register on Thursday from 12 o'clock noon until 8:00 p.m. at the chapel with the family receiving guest from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the chapel.
