Larry Lee Vaughn, Jr.

Larry Lee Vaughn, Jr., 57, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

 

Larry was born on May 20, 1962 in Independence, Kansas to Larry L. Vaughn, Sr. and Sharon (Musgrove) Vaughn.  He grew up in Independence where he attended local school and earned his High School Diploma.

 

On July 1, 2006 he married the love of his life, Mary Ann Zielinkski in Dearing, Kansas at the fountain outside of King’s Coffee, officiated by Terry Frye.  The couple made their home in Coffeyville, Kansas.

He worked as a machinist and press operator for Emmerson Electric for 18 years.  He also worked for a couple of different factories through the years and then for Charloma Inc. in Cherryvale, Kansas until he went on disability.  He attended church at Emmanuel Chapel in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma.  He had so many close friends from the church that he considered family.  He loved to fish, sing, visit waterfalls and enjoyed scenic drives.  His favorite football team was the Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed watching them play.  The family will also fondly remember his love for his orange popsicles.

 

Larry is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann Vaughn of the home; mother, Sharon Vaughn of Coffeyville; children, Heather Burnett and companion, Donny Robinson of Independence, Kansas, Joshua Price and companion, Faith Smith of Joplin, Missouri, Brooklyn Smith and husband, Joshua of Coffeyville, Kansas; grandchildren, Keisha Burnett, Jamaul Burnett, Hailey Robinson, Donaven Robinson, Jasmine Price, Lily Price, Grace Price and Caius Smith; two sister in laws, four brother in laws, numerous nieces, nephews, close relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Vaughn, Sr.; brother, Rocky Dewayne Vaughn and sister, Tina Holms.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Emmanuel Chapel in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma.  Pastor James Feltner will officiate.  Burial will follow at Harrisonville Cemetery north of Tyro, Kansas.

Friends may call on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. to sign the guest register at David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville, Kansas.  The family will greet friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.mn. at the Emmanuel Chapel in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma.

 

The family suggests memorials to the Tulsa Cancer Treatment Center; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
