Carolyn Selcho

Carolyn Selcho, 76, of Coffeyville, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday, November 19, 2018.

Carolyn was the beloved wife of Ray Selcho and daughter of the late John and Edna (Barnett) Thompson.  While Carolyn worked a number of jobs outside the home, her favorite roles were that of wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She gave generously of herself to her family, friends, church, and community.

Those who knew Carolyn well knew that two things were important to her:  people and The Lord.  She was funny, loving, generous, and kind to family and friends alike.  Her beauty was evident both inside and out.  She enjoyed acting silly and loved to make others laugh with her physical comedy and sense of humor.  Children were drawn to her fun and vivacious personality; they also brought her such joy.  She rarely, if ever, met a stranger.

In addition to her husband of 54 years, Ray, she is survived by her sister, Colene Dillon, of Neodesha and her brothers, Darrell (Rowena) Thompson and Johnie Thompson, of South Coffeyville, OK.  She is also survived by her four daughters, Terry (Gary) Langworthy of Coffeyville; Sherry Songer of South Coffeyville, OK; Kristi (Mike) Gilmore of Reston, VA; and Jonay (Mark) Meyer of Hudson, WI.  She will be greatly missed by her cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, November 24th at Grace Fellowship in Coffeyville.  Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, November 23rd, at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.

In lieu of flowers, her family requests that donations be made in her honor to Gideon’s International; contributions may be left with or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
