Violet Maxine Loffer

Violet Maxine Loffer, passed away peacefully in Parsons, Kansas on November 5th, 2018.


Violet was born on December 5th, 1923 to George Japthy Stepens and Minnie Amanda Ashbrook in Peru, Kansas. She married Leo Granvil Loffer on April 6th, 1951 in Independence, Kansas. The made their home in Coffeyville, Kansas. Violet gave birth to 4 children and fostered many others. She graduated from Caney Valley High School and took business classes at Coffeyville Community College. She worked as a well-known home health care nurse for many years before retiring in 2010 due to an injury.


Violet is greeted in her heavenly home by her husband, Leo; her three sons, Stephen, Stanley, and Rickey I as well as her only daughter, Sharon.

She is survived by her grandchildren; Michelle Larson of Skiatook, Oklahoma, Chris Loffer Shanley Loffer, Marty Ross, and Rickey Loffer II all of Coffeyville, Kansas, Jimmy Loffer of Snowflake, Arizona, Leota Sutter of Dewey, Oklahoma, Jennifer Hansen of Parsons, Kansas Mark Loffer of Nowata, Oklahoma, and Tyrone Loffer of Liberty, Kansas. As well as a slue of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Violet Maxine Loffer is the epitome of a faithful Christiaan. God shone through her living example to touch many lives. She is loved severely and will be forever missed.


Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 9th, 2018 at the Lewark Church of God in Coffeyville. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.


The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 8th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.

Memorials are suggested to Living Faith Tabernacle in Coffeyville; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, Kansas 67337.
