COVID 19 Postponements and Closings

  • All Kansas schools, both public and private, grades K-1 are closed for the remainder of the school year.
  • All Oklahoma public schools are closed tnhrough April 6.
  • Coffeyville Community College will be offering all classes online through March 30th.
  • Independence Community College is shutting down the campus buildings and dormitories March 30th  until at least May 15.  ICC classes will move to online.




  • Coffeyville Rec Commission has canceled all activities.  
  • Kansas State Extension District Office in Parsons has all their agents working from home.  There will be one staff member manning calls to the office.   If you need to talk to an agent they can be reached by cell phone or email.
  • Coffeyville Public Library is open to th,e public with some restrictions.
  • All Cherokee Casino locations have ceased operations until further notice.
  • Independence City Hall is closed.
  • Montgomery County Courthouse will re-open to the public on May 18.
  • Wilson County Medical Center is not allowing visitation to patients at the hospital, however they are seeing patients at the hospital as well as their clinics in Cherryvale, Independence and Neodesha.
  • Senior Citizens Activity Center in Coffeyville is closed.
  • All City of Coffeyville Buildings, including City Hall will be closed to the public until further notice.  However offices will be staffed and available for phone calls and emails.

  • All playground and recreational equipment in the City of Coffeyville is closed for public use.  Parks are still open but playground equipment is off limits.

  • Independence Historical Museum and Art Center is closed.

  • Great Plains Federal Credit Union has their lobby closed at this time.  They are accepting people at the Main Branch by appointment only. The drive thru is open 8:30-5:30 M-F and 8-12 on Saturday

  • VFW Independence has cancelled Bingo.

  • Legacy Fitness in Coffeyville is closed until further notice. 

  • Kansas Teachers Community Credit Union in all locations has closed their lobbies, however you can call to make an appointment.  Drive-thru service is still available. 

  • Mosaic has adopted a no visitor policy for it's homes and work spaces.

  • Dalton Defenders Museum closed

  • Brown Mansion closed.

  • Community State Bank in Coffeyville's lobby is closed as is the drive-thru bank on 8th Street, however, the drive-thru at the main bank is open.  If you need to schedule an appointment you can call the main bank office.

  • Visitors are curently prohibited at all CRMC locations.  There are a few exceptions that you can call the hospital to find out.  

  • Storm shelter at CRMC closed to public.

  • CRMC Business and Industry Health Services has reopened.  You are asked to call 620-252-2277 to schedule and appointment. 

  • The Chautauqua Hills Blues Fest has been rescheduled from Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day Weekend.

  • Caney Mayfest scheduled for Memorial Day weekend has been cancelled.

  • American Legion Riders Coffeyville breakfasts have been cancelled until further notice.

  • Consolidated Rural Water District 2-C is cancelling meetings until further notice.

  • Our Community Store in Benedict, Ks is closed, but will open for customers on demand if they call in advance, 620-432-1765.

  • Independence Junk & Gems scheduled for May 8th has been cancelled.

  • The Coffeyville Summer Celebration has been tentatively postponed until a date to be decided later.

  • Republic Trash Service has resumed bulk trash pick up on the regular schedule.
