The Coffeyville Lady Ravens improved to 2-0 to begin the season with a 73-33 win over Haskell JV on Thursday night, once again overcoming a slow start before pulling away from their opponent.
A two-point first-quarter lead quickly grew into a 20-point advantage as Coffeyville put together a 20-2 run to create separation. Haskell initially slowed the Lady Ravens with a 2-3 zone defense, but Coffeyville found success in transition and used its pressure on the defensive end to generate fast-break opportunities.
Rekiah Brown led all scorers with 18 points, while Esme Smith added 17 and Carly Dameron finished with 10. Coffeyville also had a strong night at the free-throw line, converting nearly all of its attempts.
The Lady Ravens will be back in action tomorrow against NEO, which is coming off a 78-73 loss to Independence. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
