The Neodesha Bluestreaks closed the regular season with a 52-16 win over Fredonia, claiming their district title and finishing with a 7-1 record under head coach Nathan West.

Neodesha’s offense has been firing on all cylinders, scoring more than 50 points in each of its last three games even while dealing with a few injuries.

West says the emotions over the past few days have been similar to a roller coaster, especially with the short week and one less day to prepare heading into the first week of the postseason.

The Bluestreaks have leaned on their experienced roster throughout the campaign, and West says having older players who can handle the ups and downs of a season is a major benefit, helping the team remain steady when adversity strikes.

Neodesha will host Pleasant Ridge tonight as the No. 4 seed in the Class 2A playoffs. If the Bluestreaks advance, they’ll face the winner of Riverside and Oskaloosa.
