A few area teams saw their seasons come to a close in the sub-state round of the Class 3A volleyball postseason this past weekend.

The Caney Valley Bullpups fell in a hard-fought three-set match against Baxter Springs on Saturday, coming just a few points short of advancing and earning a shot at reaching the state tournament.

Caney took the first set 25-21 but dropped the second 25-20 before narrowly falling 25-21 in the third.

The Bullpups finished the season with a 24-13 regular-season record and will look to come back even stronger next year.

We’ll turn to Neodesha volleyball next, as the Bluestreaks fell in straight sets to Frontenac on Saturday.

Neodesha dropped the first set 25-16 before pushing Frontenac to extra points in the second, ultimately falling 26-24.

The Bluestreaks wrapped up the season with a 30-11 regular-season record and will look to put together another 30-win campaign in 2027.
