K-State Heads to Arizona State, Kansas Prepares for Baylor

Category: Local Sports

The K-State Wildcats and head coach Collin Klein prepare to travel to Arizona to take on the Arizona State Sun Devils in a Big 12 clash.

The Wildcats are coming off a 35-24 win over the Jayhawks, and Klein says there were several positives to take away from the rivalry victory. He praised his team for responding to the ebbs and flows of the game, something he says the Wildcats struggled to do in their previous two losses.

The Sun Devils are coming off a 53-25 loss to Texas Tech and sit at 3-3, while K-State enters the matchup at 4-2, looking to climb the Big 12 standings. Pregame coverage begins at 12:45 p.m., with kickoff set for 2:45 on the Mighty 690.

The Kansas Jayhawks are coming off an 11-point loss to the Wildcats, dropping to 2-4 overall and remaining winless in Big 12 play.

Head coach Lance Leipold says Kansas wasn’t as physical as it needed to be against K-State, and missed tackles gave the Wildcats additional opportunities. Those will be points of emphasis this week as the Jayhawks prepare to host Baylor.

Kansas last faced Baylor in 2024, falling 45-17. The Jayhawks will look to turn things around at home against the Bears and move closer to .500. Pregame coverage begins at 10:30 a.m., with kickoff set for noon on Classic Hits 104.1.
