The Fredonia Yellowjackets and head coach Lucas Lanning head into Week 8 at 1-6 after falling to Central Heights 12-6 last Friday.

The defensive battle against the Vikings followed a similar trend for Fredonia, as the Yellowjackets have allowed just two touchdowns from opposing offenses across the full 48 minutes in two of their last three games.

Lanning says his offense did a good job moving the ball between the 20s, but self-inflicted mistakes, including penalties, hurt the team’s chances.

With one regular-season game remaining tomorrow night, Lanning says the biggest thing he’s learned about his team over the past seven weeks is that his Yellowjackets are willing to do whatever it takes to win and get better.

Fredonia will hit the road to face Neodesha tomorrow night, looking to pick up its second win of the season against the top team in its district.
