The Oswego Indians and head coach Matt Fowler took down Southeast 54-6 to improve to 7-0 in 8-man football.
Last week’s matchup against Erie was an emotional night for the Indians, as they honored longtime athletic director Jeff Schreppel, who unexpectedly passed away on Sunday, October 4. Schreppel was a beloved teacher, coach, staff member, colleague and friend in the Oswego community.
Oswego honored Schreppel before the contest, and Fowler says his team did a great job defensively, holding the Red Devils to just over three yards per carry and limiting them to 12 points.
Coming into the matchup with Southeast, Fowler says his team needed to be prepared for a Lancers squad playing on Senior Night, along with Southeast’s balanced rushing and passing attack and the size of its defensive line.
Oswego will close out the regular season at home against Central, looking to maintain its perfect record against a non-district opponent before postseason play begins.
