The St. Paul Indians and head coach Keith Wiatrak are coming off a frenetic 56-48 loss to Crest in Week 5.
St. Paul was looking for its first win of the year against another winless team in the Lancers, and its comeback bid late in the fourth quarter fell just short after Crest returned a kickoff for a touchdown to extend the lead with seven minutes to go.
Even with the injury bug heavily impacting his squad, with four starters out on both sides of the ball and all three quarterbacks sidelined with either a separated shoulder or broken collarbone, Wiatrak says he was proud of how his team performed and never gave up.
With a big chunk of underclassmen now getting varsity experience, Wiatrak says his team is improving every week and moving in a positive direction, with their competitive spirit never waning.
The Indians will face Flinthills this week in Week 6 at home after three consecutive road games, looking to secure their first victory of the season.
