Oswego Follows Shootout With Dominant Victory Over West Elk

The Oswego Indians and head coach Matt Fowler remain unbeaten after a 54-8 win on the road against the West Elk Patriots last Friday.

Oswego was coming off a 66-56 barnburner victory against Yates Center in Week 4, a game where the Indians ran 47 fewer plays than the Wildcats, stringing together an extremely efficient night on offense.

Down 34-20 at halftime, Fowler says his team didn’t panic and did a great job weathering the storm, as their physical style of play helped the offense erupt over the final 24 minutes.

In their latest game against the Patriots, Oswego scored 48 points in the first two quarters while limiting West Elk to a single score. Fowler says the Patriots do a great job with play action and play fakes, which was an emphasis for his defense entering Week 5.

The Indians will return home this Friday to take on Erie with a chance to improve to 6-0 and continue their offensive supremacy, as they’ve scored 54 or more points in four of their five games.
