The Kansas City Chiefs used a furious offensive burst in the fourth quarter to take down the Las Vegas Raiders, 30-27, in a clash that came down to the wire, keeping Kansas City as one of three undefeated teams in the NFL.
Patrick Mahomes threw for two touchdowns, while Kenneth Walker added two rushing scores on his way to a 177-yard day. The Chiefs’ defense also came up with crucial turnovers in the final frame, including a recovered fumble on a kick return and an interception on the Raiders’ final offensive snap.
Head coach Andy Reid says he liked the performance he got from his offense, especially in the ground game.
While Kansas City improved to 4-0, receivers Rashee Rice and Tyquan Thornton both suffered injuries in the victory, potentially leaving the Chiefs without a significant portion of their most productive pass catchers moving forward.
The Chiefs will enter Week 5 with a bye before returning to action Sunday, October 18, against the Chargers at Kauffman Stadium, with pregame coverage beginning at 2 p.m. and kickoff set for 3:25 on the Mighty 690.
