The Labette County Grizzlies and head coach Bradley Argabright prevailed in another exciting one-score finish, spoiling Washington’s undefeated season with a 23-20 road win over the Wildcats.

 

Labette County trailed by five late in the fourth quarter, but a 42-yard touchdown pass to Zane Garton and a crucial two-point conversion put the Grizzlies back in front for good, as the defense stood strong to preserve the lead.

 

In the Grizzlies’ Week 3 game against Emporia, Argabright called for a two-point try while trailing 28-27, and the decision paid off in a 29-28 victory. Argabright says his team is ready for those aggressive calls and prepared for the big moments.

 

Coming into the matchup, Argabright says he knew he’d have to keep an explosive Wildcat offense in check, including dangerous playmaker CamRon Fields. The Grizzlies held Fields to two catches for six yards and five carries for 23 yards, helping stifle a potent Washington attack.

 

The Grizzlies will take a road trip to face another 3-1 team in Fort Scott tomorrow, looking to start the second half of their season with another win.
