The Fredonia Yellowjackets and head coach Lucus Lanning are coming off a 30-8 loss to Humboldt, dropping to 1-3 during the first half of Lanning’s first season at the helm.

 

Fredonia’s defense kept the Yellowjackets in the game through the first 30 minutes, holding the Cubs to a single touchdown. The offense struggled to find traction but managed to find the end zone on its final offensive series of the game.

 

Coming into the night, Lanning gave praise to several players who had standout performances in Week 3 against Northeast-Arma. 

 

Lanning says stopping Humboldt’s run game and making sure the Yellowjackets didn’t get spread out on defense were key to slowing down the Cubs, and Fredonia did a good job of executing that plan through the first two quarters.

 

The Yellowjackets will be back in action this week against Jayhawk-Linn on the road, looking for their second win of the season.
